What are Mini Dental Implants?

Mini dental implants are small, simple implants that help stabilize loose dentures — with minimal discomfort and fast recovery.

Designed to:

They are placed with a minimally invasive procedure — usually done in one visit with local anesthesia.

What Is a Dental Implant?

A dental implant is a small titanium post that is surgically placed into the jawbone to act like a natural tooth root.
Once healed, it allows the dentist to attach a replacement tooth (a crown), or use it to stabilize a bridge or a denture.

  • Unlike removable dentures, a dental implant is fixed in place and will not move or slip.
  • Unlike traditional dental bridges, implants do not require grinding down healthy neighboring teeth.

Types of Dental Implants

Endosteal Implants (the most common type)

  • Placed directly into the jawbone
Typically shaped like a small screw
  • Used for single tooth replacement, bridges or dentures

Requirements:
Sufficient bone height and width
Sometimes bone grafting is required if bone is too thin or soft

Subperiosteal Implants
(used less commonly today)

  • A metal frame placed under the gum but above the jawbone
  • Posts protrude through the gum to hold the prosthesis
  • Used in special cases where the patient cannot receive endosteal implants

Benefits of Dental Implants

  • Feels and looks like a natural tooth
  • Restores chewing and speaking function
  • Improves confidence and self-esteem
  • Helps preserve jawbone and gum health
